The sun is high in the sky and the bird and tweeting a happy tune, the UK is warm and Wimbledon Tennis Championships are underway – it must be summertime in the UK! Britain may have a bit of a notorious reputation for dodgy weather and the odd heavy downpour of rain is certainly not uncommon, even in the summer months, but when the sun is shining the UK is one of the nicest places to tour in the world. There’s just so much variety. Being an island, the UK offers many beaches, both sandy and rocky, and pebbled and with epic cliffs. The North Sea, English Channel, Bristol Channel and Irish Sea are just some of the expanses of sea that surround the little island. Whether it is sunbathing or adventure sports, the UK beaches in the summertime do not struggle for visitors.

There is a hot new holiday trend that is quickly picking up the pace and becoming an iconic travel experience for both young and old alike, families and friends and couples on a romantic getaway. I’ll get straight to the point and let you in on the secret: summer motorhome hire! It doesn’t take a genius to work out that this is simply motorhome hire taken in the summer months (June, July and August), but it makes for quite a catchy title, doesn’t it?!

After you’ve spent a lot of time on the beach, you can hop in the motorhome and head to your next destination. Maybe this time it could be a mountain. The highest in the UK in Ben Nevis in Scotland (it is also the highest mountain in Scotland, of course!). The highest peak in Wales, and the second highest in the UK, is Mount Snowdon, and the tallest in England, and third in the UK is Scafell Pike, found in the Lake District National Park in Cumbria.

Maybe you’re more into man-made attractions. If so, there are many historic houses in the UK that positively shine in the summertime. Elaborate gardens are ideal for a spot of classic English tea, or perhaps, if you’re up in Scotland, a piece of traditional haggis. If you are travelling with children you will probably want to add plenty of child-friendly activities to your travel itinerary. Why not stop for the day at an amusement park or water park, or perhaps a zoo or sea life centre will keep them entertained. Summer motorhome hire ideal for going on walks, hikes and bike rides with your party. There are so many places in the UK to stop for a scenic stroll. Have a look at some tourist information websites or get a travel guide for more information or, if you are feeling adventurous, you can just arrive on the day and see where the mood takes you.
